Original PIFCO “Infradette” Adjustable Desk Lamp, England, c.1950s
A superb original British desk lamp by PIFCO, retaining its Infradette label. This model was originally designed as a therapeutic heat lamp, but today provides a piece of striking and functional mid-century industrial design.
Finished in a soft cream enamel with polished aluminium reflector, the lamp features a fully adjustable articulated arm with red bakelite sleeve and an original twisted brown flex. The weighted base gives excellent stability, while the reflector can be angled precisely, making it as functional as it is sculptural.
An iconic piece of post-war British design.
