GENERAL QUESTIONS

Appointments Monday - Saturday 9am-5pm. Visits to the warehouse are very welcome but by appointment only. The warehouse is a very large space so please allow yourself plenty of time to navigate your way around, we recommend a minimum of an hour depending on what you require.

Tips:

If it’s a cold day wrap up warm, the main warehouse is not heated.

Bring along dimensions for any spaces/pieces you are seeking.

If you have one, bring a tape measure - although we have them onsite they are like gold dust!

Due to the nature of our items and the restoration works in progress, the warehouse and yard has hazardous areas and bringing small children is not advised. if you do decide to bring children along theyMUST be supervised at all times.

When placing an order through our website funds are placed on hold and will not be debited from your account. Once we receive your order one of our team will be in touch to discuss delivery/collection requirements.

Once these details have been confirmed with you we will process the order and funds will be debited or we can cancel the order and the held funds will be released.

Absolutely, we deliver goods across the UK and internationally. We have a network of couriers that we use and alternative options that we can suggest.

For smaller items and where possible we will opt to use a postal service.

If you are ordering a fireplace and using our installer the fireplace will be taken on site on the day of installation so no delivery costs will be incurred (unless you require otherwise then alternate arrangements will need to be made)

Yes all prices on the website include VAT at 20%.

If you are a customer located outside of the UK please get in touch for any adjustments to be applied.

PERSONAL PURCHASES

If you have purchased an item from us online which you wish to return, please  notify us within 14 days of receiving the item. The goods then need to be returned to us within 14 days of this notification.

Unless faulty, please note that refunds are only given for the goods. Return postage/courier costs are the customers responsibility and any delivery costs incurred in the original order will be deducted from the total before issuing a refund.

Please ensure you are happy with goods before making any alterations to them, once you have made changes, we will be unable to offer any refunds. Please note, items that have been made to your specifications cannot be refunded.

BUSINESS PURCHASES

The Consumer Rights Act does not cover B2B purchases, however if you have purchased from us as a business and would like to cancel the order please get in touch so we can try to resolve any issues you may have.

Yes we are always looking for new stock and interesting pieces. Please send images and your location to info@thearchitecturalforum.com

We appreciate that buying online requires complete trust and faith in the company from which you are purchasing. Therefore we try to provide as many images on the listings as possible.

Although we do not offer formal condition reports, please do get in touch if you require more information or images of a particular item and we will do our utmost help.

CAST IRON RADIATORS

This is calculated by the BTU (British Thermal Units) needed to heat the interior space. Factors such as the room size, ceiling height, double glazing and position of the radiators can affect what's needed. Please contact us with your room size and we can advise which sizes and styles of radiator would work for the space

The required BTUs can be calculated by the following formula using dimensions from the room: (L X W X H) X 5 (formula uses inches).

Although do have a selection of original cast iron radiators in stock and ready to be installed, most orders are made to order.  Restoration turn-around time is approximately 21 days. All units are fully tested before leaving us. If you urgently require radiators, please get in touch, we will try to accommodate your requirements were possible. 

Radiators come in a variety of finishes including an extensive range of colours and they can also be hand polished.

FIREPLACES

Yes, we highly recommend and have worked closely with our fireplace installer for over 20 years. Their work is to a very high standard and we are extremely confident in the finished result. Installing antique fireplaces requires in depth knowledge and experience as each fire is unique in its structure and requirements. The installation process would also include the laying of a hearth and placement of slips if required.

Yes where needed we are able to visit your property to advise on fireplaces. This is particularly helpful for larger or more complex projects.

We have over 35 years experience working with fireplaces and particular knowledge of the central and greater London areas. In most cases we are able to understand your requirements and can offer guidance and suggestions just from knowing your street address. Absolutely, all of our restoration work takes place in-house at our Hertfordshire hub. We have various workshops on site with a team of skilled craftspeople. If you are seeking to restore a fireplace in your property please contact us and provide photographs and your location so we can advise on lead-times and costings.
