A substantial antique oak hall stand / boot room rack, beautifully constructed in solid oak with traditional raised and fielded panelling.
The tall panelled back is fitted with six particularly decorative brass coat and hat hooks, each with an elegant scrolling form and multiple hanging points.
A long brass rail runs across the lower section for hanging or supporting additional items, while deep shaped sides form the boot and umbrella stand at the base.
The oak has developed a wonderfully warm colour and patina, with attractive figuring to the grain throughout. Architectural mouldings, extensive panelling and the unusually elaborate brass fittings give the piece a handsome and substantial appearance.
Originally intended for a large entrance hall, vestibule or cloakroom, it would be particularly well suited to a boot room, mudroom or utility/bootility room, providing practical storage for coats, hats, walking sticks, umbrellas and boots.
