The cast-iron insert is richly adorned with floral motifs to both the inner and outer elements, with bold, flamboyant decoration typical of the Georgian period. These designs are echoed throughout the piece, extending to the backplate and the integral three-bar basket, creating a cohesive and highly decorative whole.
