A fineItalian rosewood, walnut and fruitwood marquetry games table, dating from the late 18th/early 19th century and attributed to Giuseppe Maggiolini.
The hinged top is beautifully decorated with contrasting geometric marquetry, centred by a large octagonal walnut panel enclosed within broad fruitwood banding. Each corner is ornamented with an intricately inlaid stylised foliate rosette.
The table is raised on four elegant square tapering legs, each outlined and embellished with fine contrasting stringing.
The hinged top opens to reveal a green felt playing surface, which lifts to expose a concealed storage compartment beneath.
