Reclaimed Saint Therese of the Child Jesus | The Little Flower

PRODUCT ID: CLIFF

A large reclaimed composite stone statue of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, also known as The little Flower

The original Mid-Century piece depicts Marie-Francoise-Therese Martin who saw herself as “the Little Flower of Jesus” because she was just like the simple wild flowers in forests and fields, unnoticed by the greater population, yet growing and giving glory to God. St. Therese loved nature, and often used the imagery of nature to explain how the Divine Presence is everywhere and how everything is connected in God’s loving care and arms.

She believed that her mission was only beginning as she entered the fullness of life with God. She explained: “After my death, I will let fall a shower of roses. I will spend my heaven doing good upon earth. I will raise up a mighty host of little saints. My mission is to make God loved…”

Shortly after her death, the rain of roses began. Sometimes roses literally appeared, and sometimes just the fragrance of them. Cures of painful and fatal diseases and many other miraculous experiences were attributed to her intercession

A metal plaque to the base reads: "In thanksgiving, for the many roses she let fall on one that loved her"
