A wonderful example of the work of John Blashfield, this pair of classically decorated stone corbels depict the Greek god Dionysos. Described by Homer as the "joy of men", Dionysus was the ancient Greek god of wine, merriment and theatre.

The imposing corbels are intricately decorated and can be used both inside and out due to the robust nature of the stone.

Highly regarded, Blashfield, was noted for his involvement with the Coade Stone movement of Elenor Coade and the acquirement of her moulds. The buff colour and texture of Blashfield’s Terracotta can resemble the appearance of Coade stone. Blashfield's award winning products were praised for their quality of execution, their durability.
