Large Antique Oak Door Reclaimed from Mercers Hall London 230cm x 117.5cm


This impressive solid oak door comes complete with a brass handle, push plate and kickplate. 

With a deep and rich patina sustained from the many years of use at its time in the Mercers Hall, London, the antique door has 12 glazed panels with Georgian wire.

A fabulous and robust entranceway with great provenance - we have other elements such as panelling, flooring, doors and fire surrounds also reclaimed from the same historic property. 

The Mercers’ Company was formally incorporated in 1394 by a Royal Charter granted by Richard II. It was set up as a trade guild for the interests of exporters of woollens and the importers of silks, velvets, fine linens and other luxury fabrics. The location of the Mercers' home (originally a monastery), on the thoroughfare of Cheapside, London,  has remained the same since the 14th century.
