Antique marble Fireplace Surround

An impressive early Victorian crossover fireplace surround crafted from St Annes marble.

This attractive chimneypiece has been designed with a lintel that sits completely across both legs hence it being referred to as a "crossover."

The simple and robust design is very typical of the Georgian period and also crossed over into the early Victorian era.

The spectacular markings of the St Annes marble are complemented by the simple design of the fireplace allowing it to work in both a traditional or more contemporary setting.

This fireplace is an excellent choice for a period renovation project and can be teamed with either a cast iron insert that has a simple arched design or more ornate detailings. It would also work with an open basket or a woodburning stove.
