Known as the 'Peerless', in 1896-1902 this model of cast iron hot water radiator was manufactured and imported by the American Radiator Co, and was then manufactured in Hull by its British affiliate, the National Radiator Co Ltd, from 1902 onwards.

Due to its ease of cleaning, the Peerless radiator was the forerunner of the model of radiator which came to be known as the 'hospital' radiator, and was used in many hospitals, schools and institutional buildings from 1920 onwards.
